Dare introduces the ultimate in vanilla and strawberry flavours with the introduction of two new cookies to the Dare Ultimate line - Vanilla Creme and Strawberry Creme.

Toronto, ON - April 26, 2004 - Dare Foods Limited introduces the ultimate in vanilla and strawberry flavours with the introduction of two new cookies to the Dare Ultimate line - Vanilla Creme and Strawberry Creme. These new flavours are the first sandwich cream cookies made with no trans fat and can make a claim of 0.0g trans fat on the nutritional panel. As with all Dare Ultimate cookies, Vanilla Creme and Strawberry Creme are made with real, natural ingredients and have no artificial colour or flavour. The launch of Strawberry Creme also represents the first time a strawberry cream cookie will be available in the Canadian market

To expand Dare's line-up of products developed without trans fat, the company is in the process of removing trans fat from all Dare Ultimate cookies with the goal of having the entire line-up contain 0g of trans fat by the end of 2004.

25% of kids picked strawberry as favourite flavour
Dare developed the two flavours following extensive market research that identified strawberry as the most popular flavour choice among kids at 25% and that 44% of mom's rated vanilla as their top choice after chocolate.

In addition to Strawberry Creme and Vanilla Creme, the Ultimate cookie line-up features Dare flavour favourites Chocolate Fudge, Milk Chocolate Fudge, Maple Leaf Creme, Cinnamon Danish, Coconut Creme, Lemon Creme, French Cremes, Chocolate Chip and Harvest from the Rainforest.

Dare Ultimate cookies are now available in 300g and 350g packages at convenience, grocery and mass merchandise stores across Canada with a suggested retail price of $3.29 to $3.69.

Dare's Nut Free/Peanut Free Options
Along with the elimination of trans fat from the Dare Ultimate line-up, Dare is also responding to the public's growing concern over nut allergies by manufacturing the new Strawberry Creme and Vanilla Creme cookies in its peanut / nut-free facility in Kitchener, Ontario. These new cookies are part of a complete line of peanut / nut-free products available by Dare that are labelled as "Manufactured in a nut free/peanut free facility" to help customers easily identify which of Dare products are peanut / nut-free.

"At Dare, we understand our customer's increasing concerns about safety issues surrounding peanut and nut allergies and are committed to providing safe products that can be enjoyed by everyone, everywhere," said Lucinda Wallace. "As of November 2003, Dare's manufacturing facility in Kitchener became completely peanut and nut free. The packaging information will help customers determine which Dare products are made in this facility and are safe for our customers with nut allergies."
