We are looking for an up and coming marketer to join our marketing team as an Assistant Brand Manager - Innovation. This individual will partner with an experienced and passionate team of marketers, cross functional teams, and agency partners in driving our business with insights-driven innovation that is Made Better. The position reports to the Brand Manager for Innovation.

Description:

The successful applicant for this role is a consumer-focused marketer who can leverage consumer insights, food and nutrition trends, and market data to identify innovation opportunities and work with internal R&D and other cross-functional teams to develop products to better solve consumers’ problems and needs. Your passion for marketing will be coupled with the ability to execute plans on strategy, on time and on budget to deliver growth and profitability.

You will lead the thinking and execution of specific Dare innovation priority projects and assist the Innovation Brand Manager in short and long-term strategy and planning. You are a curious, creative and insightful thinker, and a solid communicator. Your Marketing technical skill set will enable you to work cross functionally to assist in bringing winning new product and packaging innovation to the market.

  • Knowledge and experience marketing in grocery and alternate retail channels an asset
Job Scope:
  • Support Innovation Brand Manager on the development of the innovation pipeline as part of long-term strategic planning
  • Support Innovation Brand Manager on the strategic thinking on innovation, including defining issues, market research, business opportunities, consumer behavior, benchmarks and developing innovative solutions as part of a team
  • Lead key innovation projects with the cross functional team to ensure projects meet key approval points on-time and on-strategy
  • Manage agency deliverables including concept creation and internal approval
  • Help define sub-strategies for each project, including product features and benefits, packaging format, pricing strategy, communication focus, and go to market channel strategy
  • Support the development of compelling business cases for launch including size of prize forecasts and financial modelling
  • Execute product validation via consumer sensory tests
Minimum Requirements:
  • A university degree in business/marketing
  • 1-2 years as an Assistant Brand Management at a CPG company an asset
  • Exposure to Nielsen data tools, Cognos and or SAP
  • Solid MS Office skills – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
