Capital Project Administrator

Engineering Department, Cambridge, ON – Part-time (20 hrs/wk) Hybrid role

The Opportunity

Dare Foods is a leading CPG company that is family-owned and proudly Canadian, with over 130 years of expertise in manufacturing and marketing Cookies, Crackers, Fine Breads, and Candy.

As the Capital Project Administrator, you will be supporting the engineering team by completing various administrative tasks: collect, record and organize data/information and produce documentation/reports.  Carry out administrative processes, such as issuing purchase orders, reviewing and coding invoices, engaging with vendors to resolve payment questions, among other duties as assigned.

  • This position is located at the company’s head office in Cambridge, Ontario but Dare offers a hybrid working model where time can be split between in-office and at-home work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multitasking
    • Provide administrative support to the engineering department related to capital project execution.
    • Create purchase orders for capital projects for all Dare sites within SAP.
    • Run reports on budgets, spending, invoicing, etc. within SAP as requested by project managers.
    • Track and code invoices and coordinate with vendor accounts payable departments to ensure payment aligned with Dare terms and conditions.
    • Able to prioritize and work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
    • Facilitate meetings, developing agendas, taking minutes and publishing as required.
    • Other ad-hoc administrative tasks as assigned.


  • Attention to Detail
    • Ensure that invoicing and shipments are completed with limited errors and follow through.
    • Communication effectively and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.


Who are we looking for?

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Secondary education and minimum 2 years of related experience.
    • Teamwork and relationship-building skills with team members and other internal/external contacts, specifically capital project vendors.
    • Good verbal and written communications and ability to build positive working relationships with immediate team and other internal/external contacts.
    • Able to complete work independently with limited guidance as needed.
    • Proficiency with MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
    • SAP experience in a relevant environment.
    • The job responsibilities can be completed remotely or in-office as preferred by the candidate. Could be 100% remote position, with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
    • This is a part time role that is not expected to exceed 20 hours per week of work.
