Maintenance Supervisor – Milton

We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic individual for our Milton Plant.

 

Maintenance Supervisor - Milton

As a member of the Maintenance team this person will be responsible to diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine root causes and initiate immediate and long-term corrective actions. This person will manage the daily activities of maintenance team members to ensure production and maintenance needs are met and targets achieved for the department in a safe manner while maintaining high food safety standards. They will complete work assignments within the required budget, manpower and timing constraints and establish, implement and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities in the plant and for providing front-line supervision to maintenance staff and contractors to ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and per schedule and work plan.

  • Maintain safe and healthy work conditions by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with all Health & Safety regulations and Food Safety policies.
  • Ensure maintenance schedules are properly reviewed, prioritized and are able to be executed.
  • Troubleshoot specific equipment reliability, operability and maintainability issues and provide feedback to support reprioritization of work on a risk rank basis and provide support and guidance to supervisors to implement maintenance programs and troubleshoot maintenance issues
  • Actively take the lead and participate in delivering Continuous Improvement projects and working with other teams to provide support.
  • Qualification as a recognized mechanical or electrical tradesperson is an asset, but not required.
  • Strong supervisory, organizational, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Track record as a take-charge, results-oriented individual with excellent judgment and initiative.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, SAP and MP2 or any other CMMS.
  • Regular working hours: Sunday-Thursday, 9:30am-5:30pm.

 

Highly organized, you are a team builder and able to manage tight deadlines and budgets. Your strengths and leadership ability are coupled with strong interpersonal and communication skills.  You bring to this role an understanding of the skilled trades with formal management training and at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance department. Experience in a food manufacturing setting.
