Production/Plant Supervisor

Full Time + Cambridge, ON

We are offering a fast paced, career elevating opportunity for a Production/Plant Supervisor at our new highly automated state-of-the-art baking facility in Cambridge, Ontario. The expectation for every employee of this unique and flexible facility is to work cooperatively as part of the team to produce safe, high quality food products, efficiently and effectively.

This is a salary position, reporting directly to the Plant Lead.  This role is a rotating days/afternoons position with the following key responsibilities:

Production/Plant Supervisor

This is a salary position, reporting directly to the Plant Lead.  This role is a rotating days/afternoons position with the following key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to a group of 10 – 15 Technical Operators, Maintenance Personnel and Sanitation Crew Members
  • Lead daily Production Meetings and coordinate shift to shift communication sessions
  • Drive Continuous Improvement in Cost, Quality and Health & Safety
  • Develop and engage team members, through training and growth opportunities
  • Report daily activities through clear, concise production reports to both Plant Lead and Maintenance Lead
  • Responsible for the control of inventory of materials, allocating material and meeting production deadlines
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preference in the Food Science Technology/Engineering or related field
  • Broad range of experience with Operational Systems
  • Strong technical writing skills, with experience developing Quality and Health & Safety Systems/Programs
  • A history of meeting and exceeding challenging performance goals; a desire to “win”
  • Ability to perform tasks effectively both individually and as a member of a team
  • 3 - 5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of the principles of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing would be considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in developing a “team first” culture
