Ingredients

  • Medium Cheddar, sliced thin
  • Fresh Pear, sliced
  • Walnuts, chopped
  • Maple Syrup

Preparation

  1. Toss your chopped toasted sunflower or pepitas seeds lightly in maple syrup
  2. Slice pears into thin wedges
  3. Arrange onto cracker with a thin rectangle of cheddar on the bottom, followed by pear and chopped maple coated walnuts

Pro Tip

  • If you have some crispy bacon, or even bacon bits around, you can add it to this for a little bit more saltiness and umami.
  • Best cheddar for this is a simple Medium.
  • Any pear works, this recipe is versatile, try Forelle.
  • Lightly toast your seeds in a frying pan prior to coating them to really add some flavour. Adding the syrup right into the pan after you toast them and cooking for 1-3 minutes will make the toasted sunflower or pepitas seeds stick together, and sit well on your cracker.
